Galway’s strength as a food destination is its depth. You seek good coffee? They’ve got you. Good sandwiches? Got it. Good lunchtime choices? Let them show you. Blow-out dinner events? Walk this way. Wine bars with funky wine choices? Let’s go.

The city’s food offering runs all the way from soup to collard greens in a food panorama no other Irish city can equal.

But what happens when it’s first thing in the morning, you’ve had your run along the Malecón – sorry, the Salthill Promenade – and the breakfast hunger is upon you. Where to now?

What follows are all proper breakfast offers, not brunch, not coffee and a pastry. We’re here for breakfast, and Galway, as per its remit of offering whatever is your heart’s desire, is there for us.
